I get a phone call from a client that wants to see a home in Alief. I scheduled the appointment and meet him at the house.
As I approach the street where this home is located, I see the street is partially blocked. A car surrounded by several men was blocking the street. I try my best not to show fear; I squeeze by and head towards the home that is at the end of the cul-de-sac.
As I get to the home, I find that the drive way has three cars parked in the driveway. One car was occupied. I call my broker to confirm that the home is unoccupied and she confirms. Apparently some of these same guys were using the driveway at their convenience. The street was being guarded. From what? I can only imagine.
I decide to wait for my client in the car with my doors locked.
When my client arrives I take a deep breath and get out of my car. We walked past the guy in the driveway and go into the home; making sure to lock us in.
Shortly after we head out. As soon as I turn right out of the "guarded" street I hear and see a blacked out car screech out of one of the driveways. The car starts to follow me. They ride my bumper and start to pick up speed. I am convince that they will hit my car at any moment. They begin to honk their horn. I pick up speed and try to lose them. They try to pass me and I block them. We go on like this for several blocks. I, at this point, am about to have a heart attack.
I get to a busy main road and I have to come to a stop, at which point the car passes me and come to a stop right next to me. I could not see the passengers but I imaged the worse. Slowly they lower their window while I hold my breath. I look at the driver in petrified fear and hear her say "I'm sorry I scared you but I'm looking for a real estate agent"
